Anti-harassment/bullying Procedures

Last year we updated the handbook to include a anti-harassment/bullying policy as well as reporting forms.  If you have any concerns about bullying amongst students or things that are happening in classrooms or at  breaks, you may call Mr. Shetler on his cell phone, up until 10:00 p.m.

Emergency Medical Authorization Forms

If you have not returned your emergency medical authorization forms that were in your envelope last week, please do so tomorrow.  It is very important for us to have those on file here at the school.

Sports Pictures

Next Wednesday, September 1, we will take volleyball and golf pictures.  You need to be here for the team picture even if you do not plan to purchase pictures.  Please remember to bring your uniforms.  The schedule is as follows:

                    J.V. girls – 2:30

               Varsity girls – 2:45

              Jr. High girls -  3:00

                   Golf team -  3:15

Concession Stand
All high school parents are responsible to run the concession stand for volleyball and basketball seasons.  The money raised pays for the convention trip the high school attends in the spring. We went ahead and made a schedule for volleyball season.  If you are not receiving a concession stand schedule today, then you will be asked to help with basketball season.  If you have any questions, you can contact Shelley Spires or Twila Headings.

Money for the School

Shekinah currently participates in the Box Tops for Education as well as the Campbell’s soup label program.  Start saving those Box Tops as well as the little Campbell’s soup man along with the UPC symbol.  Ask your family, friends, and neighbors to help you save them as well.  Watch for collection times in the next couple of months.

Lost and Found

All lost and found items are put in the first two benches on the right side of the gym daily.  When the benches are full, the lost and found items are taken to the multi-purpose building and put in a bag.  Please remember to mark all items with your student’s name.

 Festival News

Festival Committees Updated

You will find an updated committee list in the envelope today.  Chairpersons, please connect with everyone on your committee, especially new parents.  For those of you that are new, the star indicates the chairperson of your committee.  They can fill you in on where and when you will be needed.

Babysitting for Festival

Our resources are limited in finding babysitters to help at festival.  If you have small children, we would ask that you try hard to find childcare for your children for Saturday of the festival.  If you are in need of childcare for the festival for children in Kindergarten and younger, we must know by next Thursday.  After Thursday, Sept. 2, we will assume you have been able to make your own arrangements.    -Festival Steering Committee

From the Auction Committee

The auction committee is looking for donations of good, saleable items.  Your support with donations makes a big difference in the festival profits for the school.  If you have something you would like to donate, please contact Brian Hershberger, Dave Troyer, Randy Miller, John Harmon or Stan Cooley.  Thank you for your support!

Fundraising That Fits YOUR Schedule!

Are you looking for an opportunity to help Shekinah earn money but would like to work at it later in the year to fit your own schedule?  Here is an experience just for you!  At the Shekinah Festival In-Home dinners will be auctioned off and every ticket sold is pure profit for the school!  The procedure for In-Home dinners works like this:  you plan a menu (your meal can have a theme or just be a good home-cooked meal), set the approximate date and number of people you are willing to host, then the tickets will be auctioned off at the Festival.  We need help from each of you!  You will find the sign up sheets in your envelope this week.

Crafts for the Festival

If you have any handmade items to donate for the craft section at the festival, please contact Melissa Keefer.

Baked Goods for the Festival

It's time to warm up those ovens for the Shekinah Baked Goods stand!  WE ARE ESPECIALLY IN NEED OF CINNAMON ROLLS THIS YEAR! (un-iced rolls with icing cups included sell the best.) If you are able to bring any amount, or donate money to pay someone to bake them, please contact Luceeta.  Other requests include more DINNER ROLLS, carrot cakes and SPECIALTY PIES (elderberry, ground cherry, grape, rhubarb, raisin, custard and pumpkin).  Look for packaging supplies in the church lobbies and outside the school office.  Please neatly wrap and label each item.  Please contact Luceeta Rohrer with any questions.
