If you did not return the Medical Action Plan form in your envelope last week, please do so tomorrow.  Even if your student does not have allergies or use an inhaler, please sign and mark NA on the form.  We want to be sure we have everything up-to-date for your student.

Attention High School Parents

Learning to Type

If your son/daughter spends time on a computer, we suggest that you invest in a computer program called Mavis Beacon that teaches children how to type.  Students that do not learn how to type correctly can form some bad habits that are hard to break.

Pizza for Lunch Friday!

Friday, September 11, the Festival pizza stand will be open to the students and workers at lunchtime.  The cost for each piece of pizza will be $2.00 with a choice of cheese, pepperoni, or deluxe.  Pop will also be available for $.75 a can.  Please keep in mind that this will be the only food offered, so you may want to send something extra for your child.  If your child does not want to buy pizza, it would be helpful if they would pack a lunch that does not need to be heated in the microwave.  The kitchen is very busy that day and the students will be eating outside under the tent.

2010 Shekinah Festival Updates

Thanks In Advance

Saturday, Sept. 11, is the big day--the 31st Annual Shekinah Festival! Thank you in advance to everyone who will put so much time into making the Festival run smoothly.  Let's pray that the day will go well and glorify God!

Tent Rising

The tent raising was postponed to this afternoon at 4:00 p.m.  We need lots of labor to put up the tents.  Junior high and high school guys are welcome to help, also.

Pre-Festival Concert

Friday evening, September 10, at 7:30 p.m. there will be a concert featuring Jonny Diaz, singer who has opened for acts such as Mercy Me and Stephen Curtis Chapman.  Admission is free; a freewill offering will be taken. Some food stands will be remaining open throughout the evening.  Come enjoy an evening of fellowship with us!

Pretty Please!!

As of now, we only have five In Home Dinners to be sold at the Shekinah Festival.  Would you consider hosting or joining with someone else in planning an In Home Dinner?  Remember--it is 100% profit for the school!!!!  Please call Jessica Yoder by tomorrow--Thursday, September 9, to sign up!

Baked Goods for the Festival

It's time to warm up those ovens for the Shekinah Baked Goods stand!  WE ARE ESPECIALLY IN NEED OF CINNAMON ROLLS THIS YEAR! (un-iced rolls with icing cups included sell the best.) If you are able to bring any amount, or donate money to pay someone to bake them, please contact Luceeta.  Other requests include more DINNER ROLLS, carrot cakes and SPECIALTY PIES (elderberry, ground cherry, grape, rhubarb, raisin, custard and pumpkin).  Look for packaging supplies in the church lobbies and outside the school office.  Please neatly wrap and label each item.  Please contact Luceeta Rohrer with any questions.

Quilt Books

There are several quilt books in the office if you would like to look at one before the festival.  They are $1.25 each.

From the Fruit & Produce Committee

The Fruit & Produce Stand needs quality fruits and vegetables to sell at the Festival.  We would also use fresh eggs to sell.   Please bring the items you have to the stand Friday evening.  If you would like your container back, please write your name onit.  If you have any questions, please call Steve and Rose Cooley.
